On the exercise front, this week was horrible. None at all, only power walking I did on Thursday. Was supposed to go out saturday morning with my jogging partner but went to bed late and asked her to go without me. She didnt call me on sunday so I dont know if she went either. Lets see how this coming week goes.

Back from Relapse

I am back to normal now after a few days of 'relapse'.
  • Lunch - Salad
  • Snack - Pickled Onions
  • Dinner - Fish
  • Snack - Chicken
  • 2 Litres of Water

Went to the park and power walked for 40minutes with my ankle weights this evening. The ankle weights felt so heavy I couldnt run more than one lap with them and power walked instead. 4 laps and 40minutes later, I headed back home. Buki was right about not feeling the pain until later on. My legs ache so seriously now!!

Weekend

SATURDAY Got a set of 0.5KG ankle and wrist weights today. I'll go back for the 1KG and heavier weights after trying this one out. I'm finding it difficult sticking to the allowed 20g of carbs daily allowed me. Maybe I'm bored and need to add something different to my meal plan.
  • Breakfast - Fried Egg, 4 sausages - approx 20g of carbs
  • Brunch - 350g pack of Brocolli - approx 7g of carbs
  • Snack - 1 Avocado - approx 2g of carbs
  • Dinner - 3 Cheese singles - 4.8g of carbs
  • 2 Litres of Water

Thats more than 30g of carbs today. I know I overshot my carb allowance for today. The sausages blew it right from the start and I couldnt help it after that. I made enough for two but Oga refused his opting for something else and I couldnt bear to chuck them in the bin.

Its a week now since I started going to the park. Went jogging in the evening and it was good. 3 laps round the park but I was so tired that even the last lap was a struggle and I just gave up after that, postponed the last round which would have been a lap of power walking and went back home. Tomorrow's another day.

SUNDAY

  • Brunch - Huge bowl of Salad
  • 2 litres of water
  • bowl of beans - too soon
  • macdonald's meal, some cake - WHY oh why didnt I resist?!?!?!

I went jogging with my jogging partner on sunday morning at 5am. She replied my gumtree advert and by sheer coincidence, she lives on my street too. We went jogging for 30 minutes with her boyfriend at 5am on sunday morning. She dosent want anyone to see her during the day. I wore my weights when we went jogging and the pace was quite good. I had some more exercise in the afternoon when I took some visitors to Oxford Street and we pounded the sidewalks and shops for about 5hours. It was at Oxford Street I was offered a Big MAC and couldnt resist and tucked in complete with drink and chips. I did someting awful after taking all the forbidden foods not allowed on Atkins once I got home though. I ............

MONDAY

  • Breakfast - 1 Avocado
  • Snack - 3 Cheese Slices
  • Lunch - Bowl of Salad
  • Dinner - Bowl of Soup
  • Snack - Sausages
  • 2 Litres of Water

I may not go jogging for the next two days. My body needs some rest although who knows how I might feel in an hour when it'll be time to leave. Maybe I just will go and try my weights out some more.

I intend to introduce new meals to my food plan in May and go into Phase Two of the diet which is Ongoing Weight Loss OWL. Lets just put it this way - I decided to make my induction last a month instead of the usual two weeks - maximum effect I guess I wanted to achieve.

Energy Boost

I think I may have eaten too much today. I am beginning to get terribly bored and cant wait for this my self inflicted punishment called Induction to be over so I can introduce something new into my meals. Only two more days to go. I went looking for energy drinks yesterday since Vickii mentioned that I might be pulled back and have less energy due to my non consumation of carbs. I sought out RED BULL but after reading its carbs content which was 28g, dropped it back on the shelf. Taking that would have blown my restricted carb diet allowance of only 20g daily sky high. Its sugar free sister - Sugar Free RedBull was better with only 3g of carbs and so I opted for it. Looking around the energy drinks section, I dicovered that Tesco had its own brand of energy drink which came in a 1 litre bottle for the same price as the 250ml Sugar Free Red Bull and with nil carb content too so I decided to try that out too. Into my shopping basket it went.
  • Brunch - Pepper Soup with loads of meat & shaki
  • Snack - 2 Cheese Singles and a hot dog.
  • Lunch - Huge bowl of salad
  • Snack - 8 Strawberries
  • Dinner - Bowl of soup with some chicken pieces - was hungry after running
  • After Dinner Snack - An Avocado
  • 2.5 Litres of Water

I was quite happy with my progress today at the park and I put it all down to the 250ml measure of Kick Stimulating Energy Drink I drank before leaving home. The last time I jogged in the park (saturday), my legs wouldnt budge when I went back to the park the next day (sunday) and thus I resorted entirely to power walking that day. Today, I was expecting my legs to give way after the first lap since I had worked them seriously yesterday running but they didnt. The first lap went well, the second, third, fourth and finally couldnt make the fifth round and power walked instead. But it was good and to me quite unbelieveable that I ran 4 laps round the park today. Thank God for the energy drink. It worked wonders!

Monday

  • Breakfast - 2 Cheese Triangles and 2 Cheese Singles
  • Snack - 1 Boiled Egg
  • Lunch - Sprouts and Scrambled Eggs
  • Snack - Little piece of Chicken and a Cheese Single
  • Dinner - Chicken Wings without the bread crumbs - bought from the takeaway shop on my way home from the park.
  • 1 litre of water so far - I am thoroughly spoilt. I have a bit of a cold and I had also run out of my sparkling water and was reluctant to drink just plain water. (Fake Ajea Bo) LOL!!Will try and see if I can drink some more water to meet my daily quota before today is over.

8.30PM UPDATE:

Just came back from the park. I had initially planned to run twice round the park at least but my legs just wouldnt budge. I ended up power walking for the next hour. Went 8 laps of power walking round the park with the times of each lap differing between 8 - 11 minutes. I know I will just have to find the strength and will to run tomorrow but must remember to take painkillers this night and tommorow morning and afternoon too to numb the pain in my legs during my run tomorrow.

Weekend

Went for festival of light on friday night and didnt get back home until 7am. Went to bed at about 7 - 7.30am and woke up about 12.45pm in the afternoon.
  • Breakfast - 2 cheese triangles and I cheese slice (singles)
  • Brunch - Leftover Salad from yesterday
  • Lunch - Bacon, eggs and 2 sausages
  • Dinner - Soup
  • Snack - 1 cheese slice (singles)

I went to the park later on in the evening and ran round twice. The third round was power walking. Didnt have any more energy or stamina to run. Must get dumbells and designate certain days for power walking only. Actually enjoyed the power walking.

SUNDAY'S FOOD DIARY

  • Breakfast - 3 Cheese Slices (singles) + 1 Cheese Triangle
  • Lunch - Bacon + 2 sausages + omlette
  • Snack - Chicken Piece
  • Dinner - Soup
  • After Dinner Snack - Cheese Triangle
  • 3 litres of water

I went to the park in the evening and power walked consistently for 30minutes. Each lap power walking round the park was approximately 8 minutes each. I then jogged round the park twice and each lap was about 8 - 10minutes but I havent yet been able to run each lap non stop without stopping to catch some breath. I normally stop for about 30 - 60seconds to catch my breath after running 2 perimeters. I should get there (running each lap non-stop) by the end of the week if I am consistent.

Note to Self: Remember to take some Neurofen before going to bed this night to forestall any body aches and pains tomorrow.

Lost some KG!!

I am so so ecstatic this afternoon!! Went to the GP this morning to get hubby's prescription and medication and decided to check my weight just for the fun of it. I stepped on the scale and couldnt help beaming to myself. I couldnt believe my eyes.
  • My last weigh in was 3 weeks ago on 21st March and I weighed 90KG.
  • Today I weighed 85KG!!! I have lost 5KG in 3weeks!!

ADVICE TO SELF: Keep on doing what you are doing!!! I'm all smiles and beaming.

4.30PM UPDATE:

  • Lunch + Dinner - Just had a bowl of Salad
  • 1.5 litres of Water so far

I'm off now for the Festival of Life programme which is taking place at Excel. Taking along with me 2 500ml of bottled water. Though the doors open at 7pm and the all night programme starts at 8pm, dont want to take any chances of the hall being fully seated and me not getting in.

<>

Last night about 9.30pm, I felt a little bit peckish and had about 10 olives. Then at 10.15 headed back to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Out came the rest of the salad and I meant to eat only the olives that were in it but somehow couldnt help myself and finished the entire bowl of salad. I hope eating that late wont affect my metabolism. I remembered LGL saying the good voices go quiet when the bad voices rear its head and bingeing starts. But I'm hoping the salad wasnt a bad thing - salads are healthy no matter what time of the night you eat them arent they? Today I had:
  • One bowl of Afang Soup and some meat
  • Brussel Sprouts + 2 Sausages
  • Snack - A Boiled Egg
  • 3 litres of water

Upon all my mouth yesterday, I didnt go jogging this mornig as planned. I was on my mobile this evening and looking out of my window when I saw this lady jogging down the street. It gave me an idea - I'll try waylaying people running in my area and ask them if I can join them.

9PM Update:

My friend came to see me this evening and I opted to see her off to the busstop when she was leaving. On second thoughts, I decided to changed into my joggers and have some exercise as well after she was on her way. So I can say happily now I went jogging today. YEAH!!!

..........

For lack of a proper title, here is an update of how today went. I had a busy and eventful day today and I am so, so tired out. I really have been telling myself all day that come what may, I must certainly go running tomorrow morning. Diet wise today wasnt bad at all. When I compare the portions I eat now to what used to seem like normal portions to me - makes me realise that I've been serving myself astronomical portions of food. Today went like this:
  • Brunch - Chicken Broth and Pieces
  • Dinner - Small/Medium Bowl of Okra Soup
  • After Dinner Snack (more like longerthroat) - Teeny Weeny bit of leafy salad.
  • My usual 2 litres of water which quota I am endeavoring to finish before 7pm each day.

I had so many trips to the 'Restroom' today. I'm getting a bit scared maybe I'm overworking my kidneys drinking so much water. The funny bit is that you feel like going but then you know you just went like 10minutes previously and ur bladder cant be filled up so quickly so soon!! Maybe I'll show a little bit of restraint and not increase my fluid intake from 2 litres to 2.5 or 3 litres until next week.

Today

I've set out on my Atkins Weight Loss Regime and this diary is going to be a catalogue of food ingested by me as well as a chronicle about my struggles as I move along.

  • Breakfast: Brussel Sprouts and Brocolli (reasonable portion) + 2 sausages
  • Mid Afternoon Snack: 1 Tomatoe
  • Lunch: Spanish Omlette
  • Snack: 2 pieces of Chicken with a little pepper soup
  • 2 litres of Water.

This was going so well, then I just had to go to Tesco to get hubby's croissants. Temptation reared its head and I succumbed and got 2 creme eggs all to myself. Very, very naughty. I know!! I told myself so too. Next time I'm going to Tesco, will take a teaspoon of vinegar before I leave home to keep the temptation of lustful snacking on any more creme eggs away.

Meal Plan?

Here's a rough estimate - OK not rough a just and true account of all meals ingested today by me:

  • Breakfast - 2 Scrambled Eggs
  • Mid Morning Snack - 1 Tomatoe
  • Lunch - Chicken Soup with about 3 pieces of Chicken
  • Dinner - Fistful of Brocolli and fistful of Brussel Sprouts + 2 saugages
  • After Dinner Snack - couple of olives
  • 2 litres of Water

I must make a mental note to my brain not to accept any more foods after 6pm. No matter how tempting. Now I have to just have to find the will to work on my basal metabolic rate.

IDEA!!!

An idea just came to my mind. I now know what to write in this blog. Visiting London Chameleon's food diary gave me an idea. This blog is going to be a chronicle of my Weight loss using the ATKINS DIET Regime and how I'm going to go about achieving my aim which is to reduce from a 90KG young lady to a slim and svelte 65KG - 70KG young lady. I have to hurry up and send this link to my diet buddy KEMI so she can read all about my chronicles and share hers with me too. I'm thinking of calling her one of these days just to hear her voice. I'm sure that will be a lovely surprise for her.
